Commercial Explosives Test |
An explosive is defined as a material (chemical or nuclear) that can be initiated to undergo very rapid, self-propagating decomposition that results in the formation of more stable material, the liberation of heat, or the development of a sudden pressure effect through the action of heat on produced or adjacent gases. All of these outcomes produce energy.
UTEC Corporation has the capability of evaluating and testing all types of commercial explosives, energetic materials, in both a laboratory environment and full scale detonations to simulate real world conditions.
A variety of laboratory test equipment is available for small-scale testing:
- Drop weight impact
- Friction impact
- Electrostatic Discharge
- Chemical composition
- Moisture determination
- Thermo degradation
- Customer Specific testing
Full-scale detonation testing includes:
- Underwater energy
- Detonation velocity
- Continuous
- Point-to-point
- Bullet impact
- Critical Diameter determination
- Long term storage
- Temperature cycle
- Hot and/or Cold storage
- Air-Gap
- Sympathetic detonation
- Large scale drop testing
- Large scale “bonfire” testing
- Konan tests
- Various UN and MIL Spec defined tests
